Are You Blogging?

The term Blog derives from the word Weblog. A Blog is a type of website or part of a website.

Blogs come in many different forms. They can be online journals, news feeds or provide commentary on what is happening in the world.

Blogs are usually maintained by an individual, and consist of text, images, video anything you would like to share with the world. Blogs can be used for staying in touch with family and friends. A lot of people when going traveling will create a Blog when they go to keep their family and friends updated on all they are doing and seeing. They can add all their photo’s and video and write a online diary of all their adventures.

So as you can see, Blogs can be a very useful form of communicating.

This leads me onto using Blogs for your business needs. You see the search engines LOVE Blogs. They are very friendly, and the search engines pick them up very easily.

With a static website, it is very difficult (unless you are a webmaster) to keep the site updated with constant content.

As we all know CONTENT IS KING.

However with a Blog, adding content has never been so easy. Trust me if I can do it, anybody can!

What To Blog About.

Your Blog can be pretty much about anything. Lets look at your hobbies or interests. Sport is a popular topic. Are you a keen golfer,or footballer (soccer). Or maybe you have interests in travel, cars or knitting. Entertainment news. People love people. We constantly want to know what everybody else is doing. Perez Hilton made entertainment blogging a art form.

These are all topics you will find all over the internet, that people just like you are blogging about. Blogs can also be monetized. More about that later.

As you can see. You can Blog about literally anything you like.

Blogging Platforms.

There are quite a few different Blogging platforms around, all of them are easy to use, and can be customized very easily. There are 3 main contenders. I have listed them below for you.

  1. WordPress.com This is the Free version of WordPress.
  2. WordPress.org This is the hosted version of WordPress.
  3. Blogger.com This is Googles Blogging platform.

There are also thousands of themes for your Blog. The internet is literally strewn with them. this makes it very easy to customize your Blog, giving it that personal touch.

Internet Marketing And Blogs.

Blogging platforms when they first arrived were a gift from the gods for internet marketers. They made it so easy to build a online presence, and a dedicated group of followers.

Blogs can make you a very good living. Take a look at the likes of Darren Rowse, Yaro Starak and Matt Garrett . They are all very active Bloggers, but all use Blogging in different ways for their business.

Blogging can be used for affiliate marketing, CPA offers, MLM and a host of different uses.

Lets take Affiliate marketing as an example. You can go to somewhere like Clickbank , take a product from there and create a Blog around this product. You get paid a commission every time somebody clicks through your link and makes a purchase. Trust me people have and still are making serious money from this.

You can add Google adsense into the mix. This is where Google advertises other peoples ads on your Blog. If one of your visitors decides to click on that ad, you get paid.

CPA offers are also another good way of generating income. CPA basically were you put a banner on your Blog advertising a offer that requires at least a Email submit. They submit their Email, they get something for free, you get paid a commission. This can be anything from $1-$50.

So as you can see Blogging can be great fun, a great way to build your online business, and meet new people.
